FAQ
“Do I have to have my vessel inspected out of the water?”
While we always recommend a haul out for a full bottom inspection, it is not always requested by every insurance company in every instance. Be certain to check with the insurance company prior to arranging a survey.

“Who pays for an insurance survey?”
In almost all instances, the vessel owner pays for the survey. If a haul out is required, the yard fee will be in addition to our fees.

“How often is an insurance survey required?”
This varies according to insurance company, vessel type and age, operation, location, and possibly the skipper’s experience.

“Why does everything have to be checked? I know my boat and it’s okay.”
Boats are always changing. No two boats are alike. I often find deficiencies that long term, knowledgable owners may have missed.”
